UCF
The University of Central Florida is one of the largest universities in the United States, and its online programs are consistently ranked as some of the most innovative. In 2018, UCF engaged Zaengle to create a holistic strategy and new user experience for the university's online suite of programs. Zaengle's mandate was to engineer a redesign that increased conversions and enhanced the overall user experience. To date, UCF Online has experienced over 45% increase in organic traffic and over 37% YoY lead generation.

While boasting one of the top online offerings in the US, UCF Online was still experiencing lower conversion rates and significant drop-off in their lead funnel. Zaengle was retained to evaluate the current platform, identify the conversion and UX holes, and craft a solution to increase conversion and optimize user experience through a scalable system.

Begin at the Beginning
In order to determine where to go, we needed to understand where UCF had been. Zaengle conducted an audit of UCF Online's digital presence, and crafted a scalable strategy within the university's Athena web framework. The result was a solution that is scalable, editable, and optimized for conversion.

Zaengle conducted an extensive audit of the current UCF Online website, analytics, user behavior, and conversion metrics. We identified issues with the previous design, unpacked why conversion rates were down, and detailed recommendations for improvements. This audit became the foundation on which we built new designs and UX flows.

Optimizing for Conversion
The ultimate goal of this initiative was to craft a new user experience that increased conversion (a very important metric for online higher education programs). This involved understanding UCF's primary users and their desired behavior throughout the UCF Online site. We primarily worked in wireframes which helped us focus on specific UX flows, including where to position CTA blocks, how to organize content for conversion, and engineer a modular system that can be deployed at scale. We also showcased how UCF's visual language could be integrated through a series of landing pages.

Through a targeted UX design sprint, Zaengle engineered a strategic, streamlined flow that helps users find relevant programs and convert. To date, UCF Online has experienced a significant increase in lead generation, and a much more optimized user experience as a result of Zaengle's efforts.
