Philip Zaengle

Founder / Chief Executive Officer

Syracuse NY 00:00 00 xx

Philip’s greatest childhood loves were LEGO and earning money (by selling soda at baseball games) - two foundational traits of entrepreneurs everywhere. These early interests built Phil’s innate skill for translating business logic to developers and engineering logic to decision-makers. He loves to take a complex business problem and solve it with great code and design that builds solid value. Phil realized early on that he only loved making his clients successful if he was nice and did good work. That’s how Zaengle Corp’s mandate, “Be nice, do good" was born. It’s the heart of what has helped him create success for 70+ clients since 2009.

Jesse Schutt

Lead Engineer

North Woods, Wisconsin 00:00 00 xx

Jesse is our resident woodworker. This hobby dovetails (see what we did there?) perfectly into his developer skillset. Both are focused on having a vision for the potential, knowing how things fit together, and what tools to use to create the most seamless product. His signature is to find the deeper meaning in a project and the right tool for the job. In his woodshop, that means hand planes, chisels, and mallets; here at Zaengle Corp, he transitions smoothly between frameworks such as Laravel, Vue, or Nuxt, and languages like PHP and javascript. Whether it ends up on your screen or in your hand, Jesse is brilliant at working a concept into a product that is both beautiful and functional.

Amanda Zaengle

Fixer

Syracuse, NY 00:00 00 xx

Amanda is a fixer; she can optimize, streamline and organize just about anything. She spent ten years in the non-profit sector while coaching Philip in all things related to growing a business. These days she spends her time looking for ways to better serve Zaengle's clients, all while improving team culture. As a part-time hobby, she negotiates deals between her Chocolate Lab, Ruby, and three-year-old son, Henry.

Patrick Sheffield

Project Administrator

Tallahassee, Florida 00:00 00 xx

Managing software development projects requires attention to detail, a good memory, and a bit of business savvy. Patrick brings all three traits to Zaengle as our Project Administrator. He spent eight years working for a PR and marketing agency, the last half of which was devoted to developing their fledgling website department. During that time Patrick came to believe that the key to running successful projects is building relationships with clients, coworkers, and vendors. At Zaengle, he embodies our Be Nice, Do Good philosophy with a blend of buttoned-up professional and southern hospitality.

Emily Kassmeier

Marketing & Product Manager

Nebraska 00:00 00 xx

As a midwest native, Emily brings a touch of ‘Nebraska Nice’ to her role as a Zaengster. Emily previously worked for a web and digital advertising agency, as well as a SaaS company. She has a background in multimedia and education, which she now uses to teach our awesome customers how to get the most out of our products and to drive marketing efforts. When she’s not behind a computer, Emily can often be found reading, enjoying the outdoors with her dog, and trying to keep her houseplants alive.

Logan Fox

Engineer

Michigan 00:00 00 xx

Logan is a Junior Engineer at Zaengle hailing from the upper peninsula of Michigan. He's lived in the bleak mid-winter all his life, so it makes sense that he's a Michigan Wolverine fan. Logan collects random useless facts, flies drones, and is Zaengle's resident Rubik's Cube expert.

Rachel Opperman

Engineer

New Jersey 00:00 00 xx

What happens when you cross years of study in biology and medicine with a degree in computer science? You get someone like Rachel. With a B.S. in Biology and an M.S. in Biomedical Science, Rachel has a strong background in the sciences that she was intending to put to good use by becoming a doctor. However, 4 knee surgeries and fissures in her cartilage left her pursuing a career in a field that was easier on her knees. She also has an M.S. in Computer Information Systems, and it was during the course of earning that degree that she fell in love with programming. She’s been coding for 2 years and is admittedly a bit of a JavaScript snob, but she’s growing to love PHP as well. When she’s not coding, Rachel can be found quoting The Big Bang Theory or Ace Ventura, reading, solving some kind of puzzle, or learning a new language.

AJ Penninga

Engineer

Michigan 00:00 00 xx

AJ likes the way things work. A tinkerer and problem solver before Construx and dial-up BBS were a thing, he enjoys putting pieces together—a philosophy that applies whether he is framing together a home office or constructing content and design systems here at Zaengle. AJ has been delivering quality content management systems since the days of Movable Type, and he now builds with Craft, Statamic, TailwindCSS, and Vue.js. Outside of work, AJ is an avid photographer; mostly of the night sky or his 3 (soon to be 4) children. In his limited spare time, he teaches swimming lessons.

David Lindahl

Front-End Engineer

Woodinville, Washington 00:00 00 xx

David is the sole representative of the Pacific Standard Time Zone for Zaengle, but luckily for us his internal clock is still stuck on stock market time (from his time in the stock marketing industry). Prior to Zaengle-life, David worked on websites for Sony's Alpha Universe, Microsoft, and SAP Concur and prior to the coding life he was an Anti-Money Laundering Investigator. When he's not knee deep in CSS and drooling over beautiful user interfaces, you can find him bouncing between his 31.3 different hobbies (like e-commerce, design, hiking, photography, investing, growing beards, backpacking, mountains, hot tubs, helping others, personal finance, economics, and futbol).

Tom Davies

Senior CMS Engineer

United Kingdom 00:00 00 xx

The sole European member of the Zaengle team, Tom has been building things for the web for over 15 years. In that time he has developed the skills to work right the way across the web stack, from devops to back-end, and UI dev and front-end JavaScript apps. These days he mostly builds things with tools like Craft CMS, Tailwindcss and Vuejs. As well as from writing code, he's interested in design systems, coaching high performing dev teams and an occasional cold craft beer. Tom took a peripatetic route to becoming a programmer, having previously worked as a short order cook, rock'n'roll roadie and a theatre producer. Outside of work, when he's not playing lego with his kids, he is on a long term quest to bake the perfect sourdough.

Jasmine Tracey

Engineer

Jamaica 00:00 00 xx

It all started with watching her aunt spending hours working on websites and Jasmine was hooked. She wanted to learn how to make her own websites and eventually how to help others solve problems and digitalize their business processes. Jasmine has background in software testing which helps her to develop fully tested web applications using React, Next.js, Laravel and Tailwind CSS. Outside of work, Jasmine loves going on adventures, reading books, watching murder mysteries and doing jigsaw puzzles.
