Streamlining the shop owner - vendor connection

Most of the time we build things for other people, but every so often we switch gears to build something for ourselves. ConsignMint is a Zaengle-owned software product designed to uncomplicate the relationship between consignment shop owners and their vendors. Many multi-vendor shops still run their operations relying heavily on spreadsheets — which means more manual work and a lot more room for error. Others use clunky legacy software that slows them down and limits their business growth. ConsignMint was created to support shop owners in growing their business at their own speed. It offers an all-in-one modern platform where owners can easily automate shop operations and inventory management (no spreadsheets required, hooray!) — allowing them to run their shop from anywhere. The Zaengle team built and launched ConsignMint in the Shopify App Store in early 2024.

The Challenge

Three hurdles to overcome
  1. New brand – With ConsignMint being an entirely new app, we needed to establish a brand and visual identity that aligns with the goal in mind.
  2. Real-time data – To make the app as useful as possible, we knew we needed to allow users to view live data from their store, instead of processing data on a schedule and displaying potentially outdated information.
  3. Platform constraints – Since ConsignMint would launch in the Shopify App Store, there were strict requirements for how the app should be built.

Shopify integration

A major differentiator between ConsignMint and other consignment apps is ConsignMint's two-way, real-time sync via the Shopify API.

Multi-user dashboards

Shop owners and vendors have access to secure, professional dashboards, allowing them visibility into shop activity without the need for exchanging frequent spreadsheets or emails.
